Dr. Rose was a brilliant teacher and scholar with whom I had many discussions on literature. His course on short fiction was a staple of the AU English dept. for many years. I had him for 2 courses in 1970. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I certainly look forward to reading his book.

I really enjoyed being present to hear Grace Marable relate her life journey from back then to where it has led her now. My heart was indeed touched as she told how life was for her and her siblings. Her beauty and charm lit up the room with a glow I’ve not seen in my short 46 years of living. I truly love and admire the strength this woman has.
